Excellent game! I felt compelled to play Puzzle Books #1 and 2. I must say, your programming, interface, and puzzle design skills have improved a lot! I hope you'll consider updating the first two installments.
I especially liked that:
* You eliminated the Tab Cheat problem and made the key do something useful. I'd suggest looking into the tab order -- some of them are funky (hangman and sudoku, for example).
* You added the ability to skip levels. I have not been able to finish PB#1 & 2 and I'd like to see the remaining puzzles. And more importantly the solutions and logic to the ones I can't figure out. This is one of my favorite features of PB#3.
* The artwork is fabulous as in previous installments.
* There's still some guessing to the answers. Perhaps you could check for "other right answers"? For example, in Close Observation, I guessed what you were referring to but typed 3 other names for it. Then I figured I was missing something and spent a bunch of time looking for a different answer. It was frustrating to find that I was originally correct but didn't guess your name for the item!
I'm looking forward to future installments and I hope you let me skip levels in 1&2!
First off, thanks for this thoroughly detailed and motivating review. It really makes me want to start working on another Puzzle Book ;)
What regards updating both previous releases I have to disappoint you. For now. I may consider updating them but at the moment I'm afraid it isn't possible. One reason is that I want to work on an animation someday. A second reason is the lack of ideas. I need some time to collect enough ideas for new puzzles. When I'm ready I'll make another game, I promise. But for now I'm not able to. Sorry.
That's exactly the reason why I included the Skip button. As you could see in the reviews to PB1 there have been some complaints stating that they couldn't complete the game due to my confusing puzzles. And yeah, they were right. So to avoid this problem I thought of putting a Skip button in there. I'm glad I did.
In future releases I may include an option to see if your answer is heading the right way or perhaps a little advice when it's totally wrong in addition to the hint.
Anyway, I'm glad you liked the games and thank you for motivating me and reviewing :D
Yeah, it's basically Asteroids. But the little differences make for a great game! I enjoyed the Power Ups.. I had way too much fun blasting through the big germs in Invincible mode :)
The animation is killer, the controls are responsive, the gameplay provides an increasing challenge... what's not to like?
Of course there's always some way to improve. A couple details could use some attention (for example, "invincible" instead of "invisible" on the instruction screen). I did get a little bored with the background music; perhaps a longer loop would help here. Oh, and the shields always seemed to expire just as I was about to get hit. Maybe some visual indication that they're about to expire would help?
All in all, this is a great little game. And no, I haven't come close to your high score. But I'll keep trying.
I solved the first puzzle but I still couldn't enter the right password. I tried several different combinations. Please consider making the solutions unambiguous. I'd love to see an update to this!
The trivia held my interest throughout. I learned a lot about solar, and I'll be sure to check into recent advancements (for some reason the link to sungevity.com locked up my browser though).
I was really surprised to learn that solar technology costs 90% less than in 1985.
I like that you linked to "sources" though I have no intention of reading through all those to find more info on a particular question. Maybe each question could have a link to relevant source material?
The rooftop game was cute, I didn't go very far in that though. Good job!
The game gave me a headache in the first three seconds. I recommend you significantly change the interface or gameplay before submitting this yet again.

Wrong glasses
I only have blue/amber glasses (from the 3D Chuck episode). Wish you had a button to switch color modes.

You're on the right track!

Thank you very much :)
Glad you liked it. The shield last for 3 seconds, sorry for no telling.

Looks nice but controls are wonky
I like the music and the graphics, but it was nearly impossible for me to control the bird.

cute concept
I had to replay the intro to find out why they were shoving a dick at the baby. A "replay intro" button would have been helpful.
I didn't like how the birds appeared halfway on the screen, you should see the beaks first not the whole bird
yes, we all know it looks like a dick, thanks.
And everything else has been duely noted :D Thanks
